2017 Pines Hunter Derby

Sapling Hunter Derby 2’ -2’6” Sect A 2', Sect. B 2'6" Entry fee: $50 CHJA Rated, NEHC B Rated. This is a two round class open to amateur adults and junior riders to be shown over a course of ten fences at (Sec. A) 2' and (Sect. B) 2’6” with higher options. The first round judged on performance, hunter pace, and style, quality and substance, and movement. The course should include at least one in and out, one bending line and one unrelated distance. The obstacles are to simulate those found in a hunt field. Natural obstacles may be used. The riders from the first round will return to jump a handy hunter round which may include at least two of the following: trot jump, tight turn option, clever options for jump approach, halt and/or back and walk jump. To be judged on style, brilliance, and handiness. Judges will adhere to USHJA Hunter Derby rules for scoring. The score will be a total of the two rounds. To fill the class, at least 6 horses must compete. If less than 6 horses in either class 500 or 600, the two classes will be combined. If 12 horses or more between the combined classes, the class will be split using a California Split, with prizes equally divided.
Pines 2'9" Hunter Derby. Entry Fee: $50. CHJA rated, NEHC B. This is a two round class open to all riders to be shown over a course of ten fences at 2'9" with higher options. A ticketed warm-up for derby riders is available prior to each class.
