September 11 Show

Our next show, on Sunday, September 11th, will run outside using the same schedule as was originally planned for the August 14th show. We will run the equitation and hunter classics again on the grass. This show is the first of 2 remaining to count toward the Cooler Series and Trainer's Award. The final show is October 2, 2011.

$200 Hunter Classic: Class 201. 2 rounds, riders may complete both rounds at any time in the schedule. Bonus points for the Trainer's Award.

$200 Equitation Classic: Class 200. 1 round. Riders may complete this round at any time in the schedule. Bonus points for the Trainer's Award.

Corrected schedule 8/14

Corrected Schedule for August 14. We will start with the children's hunter ponies at 8 am on the hunt course. Small/mediums jump first.  Once the children's hunter ponies jump, we will go up to 3 ft. They will likely be combined with the children's hunter horse(s). Following the children's hunters will be the adult hunters. Adult hunters should be ready for 9-9:30am.

Schedule August 14th only

Unfortunately, the CHJA & CHSA have denied our request to move the show to Saturday. The reason given was that it would be impossible to notify all members of the change. We understand their reasons for the decision and will run accordingly.

We will run the grass ring as planned, and will accomodate riders as best we can. We understand that riding on grass in the rain is not always ideal, but our hunt course is built on a sandy base and drains exceptionally, even with a great deal of rain. It drains even better than our sand ring. We can keep the fences low if needed. We have run in the rain before and all has gone well. We will still run our classics and our photographer is excited for presentation shots!

The sand ring can move inside if needed for the pleasures and short & long stirrup. If we need to run more classes inside, we will. We still plan to test pleasures for CHSA prep and to add diagonal jumps to the short and long stirrup hunters & short stirrup medal.

Don't forget, there are bonus points in the classics for the trainer's awards! First place in each receives a $100 cash prize! Entry fee only $40. High scores in the hunter classic can do their second round early

This is the Schedule for 8/14/11 ONLY. The Equitation Classic is class 200 and Hunter classic is class 201. Please see the CHSA + CHJA Prep for full details. Don't forget that the Children's Eq is running on the grass at this show.

Pleasure classes will feature testing as CHSA Prep & Short and Long Stirrup divisions will see verticals and diagonal jumps!

 

   

 
 

8/14 (EDITED 8/3/11) Finals Prep for Short and Long Stirrup

We will set full courses (including diagonal lines) for the Short and Long Stirrup divisions on 8/14/11. These divisions jump full courses of 18" verticals at the CHSA finals so we will include similar courses to help riders prepare. As always, there will be a warmup before each division.

EDIT:

Due to CHSA rules, we can only offer full courses with diagonal jumps for the Short and Long Stirrup Hunter divisions and the CHSA Short Stirrup Medal. The Equitation divisions must jump x-rails twice around the outside. (Edited 8/3/11)

Cooler Points update, Judges for CHJA Prep, + CHSA Finals Prep

Judges for the 8/14 show are

The sand ring will include testing in the championship classes of each pleasure division. This will simulate testing at the CHSA finals such as: walking on a loose rein, halt, backing up, etc.

The CHSA Short Stirrup Medal will include a different course than usual to prepare riders for the CHSA finals. Stay tuned for details.

The Cooler Series points have been updated through 7/17/11. Please remember that you must compete in at least 3 shows to be eligible for an award. If your name is highlighted in green, you are eligible.

Classic Entry Fee Reduced + Extra Points for Trainer's Award

We have reduced the entry fee for each classic from $50 to $40. We will also offer bonus points toward the Trainer's Awards.

1st: 25 points, 2nd: 20, 3rd: 15, 4th: 12, 5th: 10, 6th: 8, 7th: 7, 8th: 6, 9th: 5, 10th: 4

Long classic ribbons 1st thru 10th have been ordered, along with medals 1st-3rd for the Eq classic! The winner of each classic will receive a $100 cash prize. Riders will be presented with their awards in the ring and will ride for ribbons. Riders may then move to the presentation area outside the ring following the victory gallop to meet our professional photographer.

Schedule for 8/14 Show with CHJA Prep Classics

Please check this schedule carefully. Because of pony finals, we do not expect to have any pony hunters. We have moved them to the sand ring to eliminate delay on the hunt course. Again, we do not expect this division to run. We expect to start with the pleasures as usual.

The hunt course will begin with the Children's Hunter Horses at 3'. You may jump your classic round with any division. You will see a "First Round Classic" option with each division. The entry fee is $40 and you are not required to show in any other classes.

The classics are designed to prepare horses and riders for the CHJA finals and will feature similar courses. See the class descriptions HERE

The Children's Equitation has moved to the hunt course to make it eligible for the classic.
