Pines August 12 Schedule 

Pines Equitation Classic - Class 400:

The Modified Children's Hunters were accidentally omitted from the August 12th schedule. We WILL run that division and the schedule will be updated tomorrow to include it. Sorry!

Pines August 12 Finals Prep!

August 12th Finals Prep: To be run on the grass at the August 12th show as CHJA and CHSA Finals prep. We will also run special testing in all classes in the sand ring to prep for CHSA finals as well as diagonal fences where allowed in the Short and Long Stirrup.

Pines August 12 Schedule 

Pines Equitation Classic - Class 400:

One-round equitation classic open to juniors and amateurs to be run all day on an open card and pinned at the completion of the show. Riders may show at any height from 2' to 3'6. Numerical scores to be announced. No in-and-outs. Trophy, add-back prize money & 10 ribbons. First Prize: 20% Add-back prize money and a framed 11x14" Poster print of your choice from TLH Photography. Second Prize: $50 GIft Certificate to The Equestrian Centre in Avon, CT. Entry fee: $45

Bonus points for the trainer's award: 1st: 25 pts, 2nd: 20, 3rd: 15, 4th: 12, 5th: 10, 6th: 8, 7th: 7, 8th: 6, 9th: 5, 10th: 4.

Pines Hunter Classic, Class 500:

Open to junior and amateur riders. Two-round hunter classic to be run on an open card all day on the hunt course. The final fence class of each hunter division on the grass will be scored as the first round of the classic, similar to a Marshall & Sterling Classic. Riders will complete their second classic round before the undersaddle. Numerical scores to be announced and the class to be pinned at the completion of the show.  No in-and-outs. Cooler, ten ribbons & add-back prize money to be awarded. First Prize: 20% Add-back prize money and embroidered cooler, Second Prize: $50 GIft Certificate to the Equestrian Centre in Avon, CT. Entry fee: $45.

September 11 Show

Our next show, on Sunday, September 11th, will run outside using the same schedule as was originally planned for the August 14th show. We will run the equitation and hunter classics again on the grass. This show is the first of 2 remaining to count toward the Cooler Series and Trainer's Award. The final show is October 2, 2011.

$200 Hunter Classic: Class 201. 2 rounds, riders may complete both rounds at any time in the schedule. Bonus points for the Trainer's Award.

$200 Equitation Classic: Class 200. 1 round. Riders may complete this round at any time in the schedule. Bonus points for the Trainer's Award.

Corrected schedule 8/14

Corrected Schedule for August 14. We will start with the children's hunter ponies at 8 am on the hunt course. Small/mediums jump first.  Once the children's hunter ponies jump, we will go up to 3 ft. They will likely be combined with the children's hunter horse(s). Following the children's hunters will be the adult hunters. Adult hunters should be ready for 9-9:30am.

Schedule August 14th only

Unfortunately, the CHJA & CHSA have denied our request to move the show to Saturday. The reason given was that it would be impossible to notify all members of the change. We understand their reasons for the decision and will run accordingly.

We will run the grass ring as planned, and will accomodate riders as best we can. We understand that riding on grass in the rain is not always ideal, but our hunt course is built on a sandy base and drains exceptionally, even with a great deal of rain. It drains even better than our sand ring. We can keep the fences low if needed. We have run in the rain before and all has gone well. We will still run our classics and our photographer is excited for presentation shots!

The sand ring can move inside if needed for the pleasures and short & long stirrup. If we need to run more classes inside, we will. We still plan to test pleasures for CHSA prep and to add diagonal jumps to the short and long stirrup hunters & short stirrup medal.

Don't forget, there are bonus points in the classics for the trainer's awards! First place in each receives a $100 cash prize! Entry fee only $40. High scores in the hunter classic can do their second round early

NEHC JUNIOR MEDAL RIDERS: We are looking to fill this class. We have 2 or 3 riders in it right now. If you are interested, please email me @ pinesfarm@hotmail.com
